What is Meditation?

Meditation - is any technique that expands self-awareness

Meditation is a well known word these days. Either one has heard of it or tried some version of it at some stage of their lives. “Mindfulness” is the new cool, hip word and everyone is eager to have a slice of it.

For me, even though I had been practising yoga since the age of 16, meditation never really “worked” for me. I did not get the WOW effect that so many people described. Until only a few years ago, I met Jonni Pollard, a Vedic meditation teacher and I was taught a method of meditation that, I would like to say it changed my life! Or maybe not exactly “changed” my life, but I am certain it has supported me immensely over the last few years. And what I got out if it most importantly is, that it is not necessarily what happens during the meditation practice but how you then are outside of the meditation seat.

I love that this meditation practice is very approachable for the everyday kind of lifestyle and we do not have to be religious or spiritual to practice it. It is for anyone who would like to make the most of their day — have more energy, sharpen their awareness, let go of tension and stresses in the mind body or soul — it has many layers and benefits. Through daily practice and consistency (over years) — like everything — one sees results and shifts. 

I am passionate about this meditation technique, so much so, that I went a step further — to be able to share this with others and enrich their lives - I studied to become a teacher of the 1 Giant Mind meditation technique.
